E-VOTING

so what if the system is wrought with insecurities and susceptible to hackers? so what if there is no federal law to back up the voting with a paper print out? it's the future!

TORTURE OR ABUSE?

i don't see the problem here. we're at war, you never know what those naked POWs will do. don't they know we're their liberators? we just use chemical sticks to sodomize people as an initiation right for democracy.

BONDS V. GIANTS

COMMON SENSE AND THE "PRODUCTIVE" OUT

people smarter than i have argued against this "stat" and people i'd assume at least as smart as me have argued for it. this argument comes down to this: there is only one instance when an out would even be on par with the production of a hit: less than to out, man on third, sacrifice fly/hit. there is no other instance when any right thinking individual would prefer an out to a hit. how can an out be productive when it is an inferior outcome?

AND THE AWARD GOES TO...

james guillen, a new jersey middle school basketball coach, was fired from his job for given a student the "crybaby award" for complaining about playing time. at least the kid got an award. what a crybaby

DECLARING WAR ON ERIK

for no good reason i have made erik bates my enemy for at least a few minutes. check out his blog and see how bad these things can be.

ERIK BATES QUOTE OF THE DAY

I learned last night that God is schizophrenic

NO MOORE

disney has put the breaks on releasing michael moore's new film fahrenheit 9/11. censorship of a movie like this makes it look like there is something to hide. we live in a country where the free flow of ideas should be encouraged. how else do we keep people in check? totalitarian dictators don't give the minority a voice. we chould be better.

GODSEND

remember when deniro cared? this is a silly film full of fabricated scares. just not good

C

ELEPHANT

hypnotic and dreamily paced, this film allows you to slip into the doldrums of high school before showing the brutality of anguished teens. the movie leaves the answers up to the audience, not pretending to know the warped mind set of a killer.

A+

MEAN GIRLS

this was a good movie. while some parts were cheesy, this was a teen comedy. meadow's killed as the principal. i must say that every on-screen high school is nothing like mine was.

A-

FELLINI FILM CAFE

i'd give the experience a solid A, food an A, and the drinks a B

BUSH AND KERRY 1968-1973

motherjones.com has a timeline comparing the two presidential candidates during this time period. it is pretty revealing. the sight does seem to back kerry. fyi

TOUGH CROWD 2

this show works for one reason: the awful collin quinn. his inability to form coherent speech highlights his inability to say anything he doesn't hear on fox news. he plays as the perfect voice for the people he agrees with, and is the perfect boob for those that know better. a quick aside: they changed the tagline from "4 rounds of smart comedy" to "4 rounds of honest comedy." while i do not find most of it honest, it sure isn't smart when quinn, dipaolo, or vos talks.

TILLMAN USED AS A PROP

i'm tired of people using tillman as an example of our troops in iraq. he wasn't there. he was in afghanistan. there are to battles going on here, and tillman was only part of one of them. maybe he supported the war in iraq, i don't know. i do know that he supported the war in afghanistan and fought and died there. keep iraq out of it.

TOUGH CROWD

last night they commented on the pictures of our troops embarrassing iraqi prisoners as ok because at least we didn't torture them. so we are only holding our military up to the standards of the people we deemed too brutal to rule? dont' we claim them to be blood-thirsty terrorists? shouldn't we have a higher standard?

CHARLES' CRUSHES

1. raquel urban
2. amanda escontredas
3. melissa lugo
4. sze-lyn lim
5. katie moore

you might notice that none of my old girlfriends are on this list. this illuminates my earlier contention about not dating the right people.

LOOKING BACK

wow. i was looking at an old yearbook from my highschool, and it brought back some memories. mostly i remembered how little i knew or even cared about most of these people. there was also a few pictures of the girl i really liked inn high school, melissa lugo. the story of my life: she didn't like me back. i can only get people i don't like to like me. i need to work on that.

GIANTS

after sweeping the marlins the giants are 12-14 and 4 games back. the most destressing stat for me this season is that even after sweeping the fish, the giants are still only 8-9 at home. luckily, the bats seem to have at least a glimmer of life, and that is more than they had earlier this season.

RIGHT USING SCIENCE?

instaundit.com links to a story bashing the science presented in movies the day after tomorrow and those that would raise questions on the validity and possibility of the events described for political gain. last time i checked, you cannot die and come back to life again. you know, scientifically speaking.
